24 karat gold donut is the fanciest donut in the world

The culinary mind behind this precious treat is Björn DelaCruz, head chef of a new Filipino joint called New York City  in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighbourhood. His creation combines a filling of purple yam mousse and champagne jelly with champagne icing (Cristal, no less) and a coating of 24k gold leaf. Never mind the fact that “golden doughtnut” sounds like a little-known sex act you’d have to look up on Urban Dictionary. If you enjoy the finer things in life, but aren’t immune to the pleasures of baser indulgences, this precious treat is pretty much the ultimate fusion of high and low.

Who doesn’t love donuts? It’s one of the most amazing and effective, simple and sweet treats one could possibly enjoy; and at morning, noon or night. The unique and rather interesting creation comes created with a solid gold coating and icing made out of Cristal. 

This is the ultimate in donut luxury and probably a must-try for any doughnut connoisseur who think they have tried it all. Though it is worthy to note that the original Ube Bae donut itself doesn’t come cheap too. Those will run you back at 40 USD per dozen, plus tax. If you are drooling over these donuts outside of Brooklyn, New York, well, we have bad news for you.
