Disneyland increases its China presence
HONG KONG DISNEYLAND has set up a liaison office in Chengdu, Sichuan to capture traffic from southwest China like Sichuan and Chongqing Municipality. This is the theme park's fourth liaison office in the mainland, after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Vice president, sales and travel trade marketing, Aliana Ho, said: "The southwest part of China was not previously on our radar and we are keen to tap the market. This office will answer trade enquiries and engage them with training as well as trade marketing programmes. We also plan to look for business partners such as wholesalers."
Ho added that the China market had helped fill seasonal doldrums such as Chinese New year, Labour Day and Dragonboat festival and summer.
This summer, the park plans to "wow" visitor with the launch of Stitch and Friends Summer Hangout from June 11 to August 29.
