Fun Race in Samui

Held as part of the Amazing Thailand Adventure Race series, the race will start and finish on the magnificent Bophut beach.

Adventure racing is a highly visual and dynamic sport, stretching competitors to their limits. It is rapidly capturing the imagination of sportspeople in Thailand and around the world.

This year's event will be more interesting as top Asian teams will be coming from China, Hong Kong and Singapore to challenge the local champions.

It's open to all teams of two racers who will enter under any of the five categories _ men, women, mixed, masters men (over 80 years combined), and grand masters men (over 100 years combined).

It doesn't matter if they are newcomers or extremely fit competitors, the race offers two divisions to suit their means _ the short course, called Adventure, and the long one, Extreme.

They will have to brave through the four disciplines _ running through unspoiled jungle, sea kayaking, swimming on the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand, and cycling over the hills with spectacular views on the ocean. Surprise obstacles can be expected along the course.

In order to make it a festive event and involve the Samui residents, there is also a 5 km fun run for all.
